Pitchers have some of the most specific glove requirements on the diamond. Because hitters constantly try to read grip and pitch type, a pitcher's glove must feature a closed or semi-closed web to conceal the ball from the moment it's set. The right glove gives you a competitive edge before you even wind up.

We've put together a list of the best pitcher's gloves available in 2026, focusing on models that combine excellent web concealment, premium leather, and the durability to hold up through a full season and beyond.

Best Baseball Gloves for Pitchers

When shopping for a pitcher's glove, the web is the most critical factor. Look for a closed or modified closed web, options like the modified trap, 2-piece closed, or single post designs all keep your grip hidden from the batter's view. Most pitchers prefer a size between 11.75" and 12", which offers the right balance of coverage on comebackers and quick transitions off the mound.

Choosing the Right Web

The two most popular closed web styles for pitchers are the modified trap-T and the 2-piece closed web. The modified trap provides a slightly more flexible pocket while still concealing the ball effectively. The 2-piece closed web offers maximum concealment, ideal for pitchers who throw multiple grips and want to keep every one of them a secret. Avoid open webs like the H-web or trapeze, which are designed for outfielders and offer zero concealment.

Size and Fit

Pitcher's gloves typically run between 11.5" and 12". A 12" model provides more surface area for fielding bunts and handling comebackers, while an 11.75" glove is lighter and easier to maneuver during a play. At the high school level and above, most pitchers land somewhere between 11.75" and 12" depending on hand size and preference. A snug wrist fit is key, you don't want the glove shifting during your delivery.
