All three Easton Ghost fastpitch bats use Double Barrel construction. The split that matters is the frame. Ghost Unlimited is the only one-piece bat in the Ghost family, while Ghost Advanced and Ghost OG are two-piece. Unlimited and Advanced share Easton's top composite and soft knob, and OG steps down on both at a lower list price.

Start with the frame. If your hitter likes a stiff, direct feel, look at Unlimited. If she wants a softer feel on a ball off the end, look at Advanced or OG.

Ghost OG vs Unlimited vs Advanced: quick answer

Ghost Unlimited vs Advanced vs OG: Fastpitch Specs

Prices are current merchant prices and can change.

  • Ghost Advanced: the two-piece Ghost with Sonic Comp Max and ConneXion Evolution. Start here if your hitter wants less sting on mishits.

  • Ghost OG: the two-piece Ghost with standard Sonic Comp, the original ConneXion and a standard knob. Start here if the budget matters and she wants a two-piece.

Side-by-side specs

From Easton's Ghost comparison chart:

  • Construction: Unlimited is a 1-piece Double Barrel. Advanced and OG are 2-piece Double Barrel.
  • Composite: Unlimited and Advanced use Sonic Comp Max. OG uses Sonic Comp.
  • Connection: Unlimited uses a VRS1 internal joint. Advanced uses ConneXion Evolution. OG uses ConneXion.
  • Knob: Unlimited and Advanced have the Power Boost soft knob. OG has a standard knob.
  • Drops: all three are listed in -8, -9, -10 and -11.
  • Swing weight: Unlimited and Advanced are balanced at -11 and -10 and end loaded at -9 and -8. Easton's chart lists OG as balanced at -10 and -11 only, so check the exact OG listing if you want an end-loaded -9 or -8.
  • List price: Unlimited and Advanced are listed at the same price on Easton's site, and OG is listed lower.

Ghost Advanced vs Unlimited

On paper the two bats share more than they don't: same Sonic Comp Max composite, same soft knob, same drops and the same swing weight split between light and heavy drops. The difference is the frame.

Advanced is two-piece. Easton describes its third-generation Double Barrel 3 design as pairing a low-compression outer barrel with a lightweight inner barrel, and its ConneXion Evolution piece separates handle from barrel to cut vibration. That's the bat for a hitter who hates sting on a jammed pitch.

Unlimited is one-piece. Easton calls its Double Barrel EXT the longest barrel in the Ghost line, and the VRS1 internal joint plus tuned handle stiffness is meant to cut vibration on mishits while keeping a solid feel. A hitter who likes feeling exactly where she hit it usually leans this way.

If she has swung both and can't tell a difference, either one is fine. Don't pay for a bat because a teammate swings it.

The cards above are the 2026 Advanced and 2026 Unlimited. The 2027 Ghost Unlimited comes as the Era Wild One edition: still one-piece, all-composite Sonic Comp Max with a balanced swing at -10, in 30 to 34 inches. It also comes in a -11 from 29 to 32 inches for younger hitters. There's no 2027 Ghost Advanced yet, so the 2026 model is the current two-piece choice.

Ghost OG vs Ghost Unlimited

OG and Unlimited are different builds. OG is two-piece with the original ConneXion piece and Sonic Comp. Unlimited is one-piece with Sonic Comp Max and the extended barrel. A hitter moving off an Unlimited to an OG will feel the change in construction more than anything else, so have her swing one before buying.

Ghost OG vs Ghost Advanced

Both are two-piece, so this one is mostly about money and components. Advanced adds Sonic Comp Max, ConneXion Evolution and the Power Boost soft knob. OG keeps the Double Barrel design with Sonic Comp, ConneXion and a Flow-Tack grip at a lower list price. For a younger player still growing into her size, OG is enough bat, and the difference can go toward the next size up.

Kryo vs Ghost Advanced

If you're cross-shopping Louisville Slugger, Ghost Advanced and the Kryo are both two-piece composite fastpitch bats, and both are listed with a balanced swing at the lighter drops. They get there differently. The 2027 Kryo2 uses a GO-EX+ barrel with a larger gap between composite walls, a VTX connection that lets the barrel and handle move independently, and an XPND end cap that lets the barrel pivot. Ghost Advanced uses Easton's Double Barrel 3 and ConneXion Evolution.

Kryo2 also comes in a 33.5-inch length at -9, which helps a player stuck between 33 and 34. Beyond that, this comes down to which feel and sound she likes in the box.

Ghost Unlimited vs Kryo

Ghost Unlimited is the one-piece Ghost. The closest match in the Kryo line is the Kryo ONE, a balanced one-piece composite with a 2 1/4-inch barrel in -11, -10, -9 and -8. The Kryo 2 and the 2026 Kryo are two-piece bats, so compare those against Ghost Advanced instead.

How to pick the drop

Pick the length first, then the drop. A -10 or -11 is the usual place for a younger hitter who needs bat speed. A -9 or -8 is heavier for the same length and, on Unlimited and Advanced, end loaded. If she can't get the barrel through the zone on time, go lighter. Check that the bat carries the stamp your league requires before checkout.

FAQ

Is the Ghost Unlimited one-piece or two-piece?

One-piece. Easton lists it as the only one-piece bat in the Ghost family. Ghost Advanced and Ghost OG are two-piece.

What is the difference between Ghost Advanced and Ghost Unlimited?

They share Sonic Comp Max, the Power Boost soft knob and the same drops. Advanced is two-piece with ConneXion Evolution, and Unlimited is one-piece with a VRS1 internal joint and the longest Ghost barrel.

Which Ghost bat costs the least?

Ghost OG. Easton lists it below Unlimited and Advanced, which share the same list price.

Is the Ghost OG still a good bat?

Yes for most players. It keeps Double Barrel construction and the two-piece feel, and it gives up the Max composite, the newer connection and the soft knob.
