2027 fastpitch bats to compare
1. Louisville Slugger Kryo 2
Kryo 2 is our first 2027 family to investigate after the older Kryo. Its two-piece design combines a GO-EX+ composite barrel, VTX connection, and XPND end cap. That makes it a natural comparison for a hitter who liked the previous Kryo, but the updated barrel is a reason to try the new bat.

The 2027 Louisville Slugger Kryo 2 is a balanced two-piece composite fastpitch bat with a 2¼-inch barrel. Available drops are -11, -10, -9, -8; lengths and drops are grouped under this model.
2. Louisville Slugger Kryo 2 Empress
Empress is a separate limited edition of the Kryo 2.

The 2027 Louisville Slugger Kryo 2 Empress is a balanced two-piece composite fastpitch bat with a 2¼-inch barrel. Available drops are -11, -10, -9, -8; lengths and drops are grouped under this model. The limited-edition Empress is listed as coming soon for October 14, 2026.
3. Easton Ghost OG
Ghost OG carries the two-piece Ghost family forward with a Double Barrel 3 design and ConneXion Evolution connection. Hitters moving from a Ghost Unlimited should also notice the construction change: Unlimited is one-piece, while this OG is two-piece.

The 2027 Easton Ghost OG is a balanced two-piece composite fastpitch bat with a 2¼-inch barrel. Available drops are -11, -10, -9, -8; lengths and drops are grouped under this model.
4. DeMarini Future
Future pairs a two-piece composite construction with the Dark Matter Future Gap barrel and a Damplify knob. It belongs on the shortlist for players who want to compare a connected handle-and-barrel design with Kryo 2 and Ghost OG.

The 2027 DeMarini Future is a balanced two-piece composite fastpitch bat with a 2¼-inch barrel. Available drops are -11, -10, -9; lengths and drops are grouped under this model.
5. Louisville Slugger Kryo ONE
Kryo ONE is a distinct one-piece model. Its handle includes a tuned mass damper. Compare it with Vizion if a one-piece feel appeals to you, and with Kryo 2 if you are still deciding between constructions.

The 2027 Louisville Slugger Kryo ONE is a balanced one-piece composite fastpitch bat with a 2¼-inch barrel. Available drops are -11, -10, -9, -8; lengths and drops are grouped under this model.
6. Louisville Slugger LXT
LXT offers a two-piece composite option at a lower reference price than Kryo 2. The PBF-X barrel and VCX+ connection are the key design details to compare.

The 2027 Louisville Slugger LXT is a balanced two-piece composite fastpitch bat with a 2¼-inch barrel. Available drops are -11, -10, -9, -8; lengths and drops are grouped under this model.
7. Rawlings Halo
Halo uses a two-piece composite design with an internal foam ring and F2 connection collar intended to manage feedback. We would compare it with LXT at the same general budget. Its four drop choices let a player assess fit without moving to a different model family.

The 2027 Rawlings Halo is a balanced two-piece composite fastpitch bat with a 2¼-inch barrel. Available drops are -11, -10, -9, -8; lengths and drops are grouped under this model.
8. DeMarini Vizion
Vizion is the one-piece DeMarini alternative to the two-piece Future. It uses a Dark Matter Gap composite barrel and a vibration-managing knob. The price puts it below Future, but price alone does not settle which feel will work better for a hitter.

The 2027 DeMarini Vizion is a balanced one-piece composite fastpitch bat with a 2¼-inch barrel. Available drops are -10, -9, -8; lengths and drops are grouped under this model. JustBats lists a 5/5 customer rating from one review of the -10 variant as of October 12, 2026.
9. Louisville Slugger Aura
Aura is the lightest-drop and lowest-price option in this 2027 selection. Its -12 configuration, two-piece composite construction, and AFX1 connection make it worth considering when manageable weight is the priority. A player who controls a heavier bat well may instead want the broader drop options above.

The 2027 Louisville Slugger Aura is a balanced two-piece composite fastpitch bat with a 2¼-inch barrel. Available drops are -12; lengths and drops are grouped under this model.
How to choose your length and drop
Start with a height-and-weight sizing chart, then try swings in the suggested length. A chest-to-fingertip reach check is another estimate, not a guarantee of fit. The player should repeat their normal swing without dragging the barrel or losing balance. You can try JustBats bat length calculator for personalized results.
Drop is weight in ounces minus length in inches: a 33-inch, 23-ounce bat is -10. At equal length, -11 is lighter than -10. Compare the exact configuration you intend to buy; a good experience with a teammate’s shorter bat does not tell you how the longer version will feel.
Construction, material, and swing feel
A one-piece bat has a continuous construction; a two-piece design joins the handle and barrel. That connection changes the feel of contact. Composite describes the material, not the number of pieces: every 2027 model above is all-composite, including both one-piece options. An alloy-barrel hybrid is a different category.
All nine 2027 listings describe a balanced swing. That does not mean every length and drop feels identical. Compare full swings and comfort on contact, and follow the exact manufacturer’s care, temperature, and break-in instructions.
JustBats’ guide to fastpitch bat types
Check your certification before checkout
Fastpitch is the sport specification; USA Softball/ASA approval is not the same as the USSSA or USA Baseball. Match the exact bat to your league and tournament requirements, including current non-approved lists. Retailer approval labels are a useful starting point, but your competition’s rules govern.
Which one should you buy?
Start with the model you already like, then compare the exact size. Kryo 2, Ghost OG, and Future form our first family-based shortlist; Kryo ONE and Vizion offer one-piece alternatives. LXT and Halo sit around $400, while Aura is a lower-cost -12 option. Wait for Empress only if that edition matters to you. Spend for fit and a useful comparison, not a model-year promise.
