Best USSSA Softball Bats

If your slowpitch league plays under USSSA rules, the decision comes down to load and feel. Start balanced or midloaded if you want control and a quicker swing. Go end-loaded if you already square the ball up and want more mass behind it. Every bat below is listed with a USSSA certification. These are adult slowpitch bats, not youth baseball USSSA bats.

How we picked: we compared the bats listed on this page on USSSA certification, load, barrel length and construction, using the specs each maker and merchant lists. Checked Oct 21, 2026.
Balanced and midloaded USSSA bats
El Mero Mero is balanced, with a 13-inch composite barrel on an alloy handle. The Twisted Mistress is an all-composite two-piece with a midloaded feel. The Standard has the longest barrel here at 13.5 inches with a midload swing.
Balanced two-piece slow-pitch bat with a 13-inch APC composite barrel and ZnX alloy handle. Certified for USSSA 240, NSA and ISA play.
Two-piece composite slow-pitch bat with a 13-inch APC barrel and 4.1 composite handle. Features a midloaded swing feel and USSSA 240, NSA and ISA certifications.
Two-piece slow-pitch bat with a 13.5-inch APC composite barrel and ZnX alloy handle. Features a midload swing feel and USSSA 240, NSA and ISA certifications.
End-loaded USSSA bats
Island Kings is a one-piece composite, so expect a stiffer feel than the two-piece bats. The Yates Twisted Mistress and Stadium are two-piece composites with 13-inch barrels. The Hype Fire is slightly end-loaded with a 12.75-inch barrel, a good bridge if you're moving up from a balanced bat.
One-piece composite slow-pitch bat with a 13-inch APC barrel and end-loaded swing weight. Certified for USSSA 240, NSA and ISA play.
Two-piece composite slow-pitch bat with a 13-inch APC barrel, 4.1 composite handle and end-loaded swing weight. Carries USSSA 240, NSA and ISA certifications.
Two-piece composite slow-pitch bat with a 13-inch APC barrel, 4.1 composite handle and end-loaded swing weight. Certified for USSSA 240, NSA and ISA play.
Two-piece composite slow-pitch bat with a 12.75-inch barrel and slightly end-loaded swing weight. Uses an HDK23 carbon fiber barrel, CXN MC+ connection and Flex 150 handle, with USSSA 240, NSA and ISA certifications.
Barrel length and one-piece vs two-piece
A longer barrel gives a little more hitting surface but can feel heavier at the end. Two-piece bats flex at the connection and usually feel softer on mishits. One-piece bats are stiffer and give more feedback. Neither is better for everyone, so swing both if you can.
Check the stamp and the list
USSSA's slowpitch standard has changed before, and some tournaments add their own rules. Check the exact model and year against your league's current approved list before you buy.
