- Pick the Nova LIT if your hitter wants a balanced swing. Victus says it's built to be hot out of the wrapper.
- Pick the CATX Rckless Comp if he's strong enough for a little more mass in the barrel. Marucci describes it as medium-load, medium MOI.
Barrel and connection
The Nova LIT uses a Carbon Eclipse composite barrel, carbon fiber layering inside an impact-resistant outer shell, with Victus's 2SIX connection and Dynamic Handle Technology. The CATX Rckless Comp uses a FLEX composite barrel, the OLS connection, which Marucci calls its stiffest, a PFX composite handle tuned by drop and a softer TFX end cap.
Sizes
The CATX Rckless Comp USSSA is listed from 28 to 32 inches. Check the Nova LIT's length chart for your drop before buying.
The Nova Lit is Victus's first all-composite bat, a significant move for a brand that built its reputation on alloy. Two-piece construction with a Carbon Eclipse Composite barrel: advanced carbon fiber layering inside an impact-resistant outer shell. Victus says it performs hot out of the wrapper, which matters with composites: a long break-in period is a real inconvenience. XL barrel for a bigger hitting surface. Dynamic Handle Technology (DHT) and the 2SIX connection work together to balance flex and kill vibration at contact. End-loaded swing weight. Available in -10, -8, and -5 (28-32 inches).
A two-piece all-composite baseball bat with a end-loaded swing weight. Specs include lengths from 28-32 in, 2 3/4-inch barrel diameter, and drop options -5, -8, -10. Certified for USSSA 1.15 play.
Which one should you buy?
If your player is late on fastballs, the balanced Nova LIT is the safer first swing. If he's strong for his age and already squares up a -8, the Rckless Comp gives him a bit more barrel. Either way, confirm your league allows the USSSA stamp. For the Rckless Comp against the Icon, see CATX Rckless vs Icon.
