The 2027 Easton Dub Darkside and the 2027 Rawlings Icon USSSA are both two-piece composite bats with a 2 3/4-inch barrel, the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp and -10, -8 and -5 drops. The difference is inside the barrel. The Dub uses Easton's Double Barrel construction, an outer barrel over an inner one. The Icon uses Rawlings' In/Tense Carbon Composite with a Zero Loss connection.

- Pick the Dub if your hitter wants a flexible, low-compression barrel feel. Easton says the Double Barrel's outer barrel flexes across the hitting surface while the inner barrel holds performance at the USSSA limit.
- Pick the Icon if he likes a stiffer feel through the handle. Rawlings says it reinforced the Zero Loss TPU collar for 2027 for more durability and handle stiffness, and lists the Icon as balanced with a slight end load.
Barrel and connection
The Dub Darkside pairs Double Barrel construction with ConneXion Max, an Opti-Flex handle and Easton's soft knob. The Icon uses In/Tense Carbon Composite, the Zero Loss connection and a RevGrip handle. Both are built to the same stamp, so neither one is hotter on paper. What changes is how the ball feels off the barrel, and that's a call your hitter makes in the cage, not you in the checkout line.
Swing weight
Rawlings lists the Icon USSSA as balanced with a slight end load. Easton's own pages don't agree on the Dub: the Darkside product page says balanced, and Easton's comparison chart lists the Dub USSSA as power load. If your player is late on fastballs, have him swing both in the exact size before you buy.
Sizes
Easton lists the Dub Darkside from 28 to 32 inches. Rawlings lists the Icon USSSA from 27 to 32, with the -10 running 27 to 31 and the -5 running 30 to 32. If you need a 27, it's the Icon.

Last year's models
The 2026 Dub and 2026 Icon USSSA are still listed. If the size is right and the price is lower, a 10-year-old won't know the difference.
Easton's flagship USSSA bat for 2026. Double Barrel Technology gives it the lowest barrel compression in Easton's USSSA lineup. That means more barrel flex, a bigger sweet spot, and better performance on off-center contact. Two-piece composite with a balanced swing. Connexion Max handles energy transfer and reduces sting; the Power Boost soft knob cuts bottom-hand vibration on mishits. A strong option for players moving up in competition who want a forgiving, high-performing composite. Available in -10, -8, and -5.
Pros
- Great pop
Cons
- Durability issues
Rawlings' premium USSSA composite for 2026. Two-piece, all-composite with In/Tense Carbon Composite construction, a seamless barrel designed to boost trampoline effect and widen the sweet spot. Zero Loss Technology at the connection minimizes vibration while keeping the handle stiff, so energy isn't wasted on contact. The swing has a slightly end-loaded feel compared to other balanced bats: better fit for power hitters than pure contact guys. RevGrip handle for tack and cushion. Available in -10, -8, and -5.
Which one should you buy?
Confirm your league allows the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp first. Then get the length right and let your hitter pick the feel. If he's choosing between Easton bats, our Hype Fire vs DUB comparison covers that matchup, and Icon vs Hype Fire covers the Icon against Easton's other USSSA bat.
